LAWS OF MARYLAND.
year eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, be and the
same are hereby released from the payment of all in-
terest on State tax, levied on said first collection dis-
trict of Howard county, for said year eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-nine.
SEC. 2. And he it enacted, That the State's Attorney
for Howard county is hereby empowered and directed
to withdraw any ami, or suits, and stay all legal pro-
ceedings which may have been instituted, by the
order of the Comptroller of the Treasury, against the
aforesaid William W. Watkins, Josiah Groves, Ben-
jamin H. Dorsey, J. Wolfersberger, S. F. Cobb, Wil-
liam B. Collier, Samuel Burgess, William H. Scott,
H. E. Wootton, George Burgess, Beal Helm and
Robert Wilson, securities as aforesaid, on the exhibit
to him of the receipt of the Comptroller for the full
amount of the principal, and the payment of costs
attendant on the prosecution of the same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
