Maryland Set.
At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and held
at the city of Annapolis, on the Third day of January, 1872,
His Excellency WILLIAM PINKNEY WHYTE, being Governor,
the following Laws were enacted, to wit:
CHAPTER 1.
AN 'ACT entitled a supplement to an Act," entitled
an Act to incorporate the Germania Library Asso-
ciation of Baltimore," passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-one, chapter thirty-
seven.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the first section of the Act of De-
cember session, eighteen hundred and forty-one,
chapter thirty-seven, to which this is a supplement,
be and the same is hereby amended so as to author-
ize the Germania to hold and use buildings and pro-
perty for social as well as literary purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That section third
of said original Act, be and it is hereby amended, BO
as to authorize said corporation to take and hold real
and personal estate to an amount not exceeding one
hundred thousand dollars in value.
