OF THE SENATE. 897- On motion by Mr. Davis, The Senate advised and consented to the appointments for Baltimore county, agreeably to the nominations of the 19th February, ultimo, (except the nominations of William Jones and John W. Shankland, as Justice of the Peace for the Ninth District, and James E. Ward, as Officer of Registra- tion for the Ninth District,) to which the Senate refused to advise and consent. On motion by Mr. Denson, The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi- ness. THURSDAY, March 7, 1872. The following communications which had been received from his Excellency, Governor Whyte, were read : STATE OF MARYLAND, EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, Annapolis, March 7, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland : I have the honor to nominate Charles H. Mann, Jr., as the Officer of Registration, in the Ninth District of Balti- more county, in the place of James E. Ward, rejected. WM. PINKNEY WHYTE. On motion by Mr. Earle, The aforegoing nominations were ordered to lie over. STATE OF MARYLAND, EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, Annapolis, March 7, 1872 Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland: I have the honor to request a return to this Department, of the nominations heretofore made, for Justices of the Peace for the Fifteenth District of Frederick county.
