Said bill wag then returned to the House of Delegates.
The House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Mary-
land and Delaware Ship Canal Company,
Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.
Messrs. President, Spates,
Blake, Sellman,
Carroll, Spencer,
Claggett, Steiner,
Denson, Timmons,
Earle, Tuck,
Fields, Wilson,
Longwell, Williams—16.
NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Fields, from the Joint Committee on Printing, sub-
mitted the following
REPORT.
To the Senate of Maryland;
The Joint Committee on Printing, report that the Printers
of the General Assembly have delivered all Documents order-
ed by both Houses of the General Assembly, both in English
and German, with the exception of the School Report, which
owing to the lateness of the time, in which it was received,
will be ready in a few days for delivery to the members of
the General Assembly. They have selected and authorized
Samuel T. McCullough, Esq., to index the Journal of the
House of Delegates, Stephenson Archer of John, Esq., to
index the -Journal of the Senate, and Senate and House of
Delegates Resolutions and Documents, and Thomas H. Moore,
Esq., to index the Laws passed by this General Assembly,
at the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars each, payable
by the Comptroller when the work is completed.
We would also state, that the printing matter has been
executed in an excellent and workmanlike manner, on goods
paper, with neatness and dispatch. The laws, so far as ap-
proved by the Governor, have been put in print and will be ready for delivery on or before the first day of June, 1872.
The printing matter, as ordered by the present General
Assembly, has far exceeded that of the last, and the Com-
