1872.] OF THE SENATE. 755 MONDAY, April 1, 1872. The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Bull. Present at roll call, the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford, Claggett, Denson, Downs, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck, Wilson—22. On motion by Mr. Claggett, The Senate non-concurred in the House amendments pro- posed to the Senate bill relating to a supply of water in Hag- erstown. When Mr. Claggett submitted the following message : BY THE SENATE, April 1, 1872. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We respectfully ask the appointment of a Joint Commit- tee of Conference, to consist of three on the part of the Senate, and three on the part of the House, to consider and report upon the amendments as proposed and adopted by your Honorable Body, to the bill entitled an Act to provide for the introduction of a supply of water into the town of Hagerstown, by means of water works; appointing a Water Board for that purpose, and authorizing the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to provide means for the construction of said works. We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Claggett, Crawford and Timmons. By order, A. GASSAWAY, Secretary. Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Delegates.
