The House bill confirming the appointment by the Goveernor, of Commissioners, to settle the claims of the State vs. the Government, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Fields, Blake, Longwell, Compton, Miller, Carroll, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Downs, Timmons, Dennis, Tuck, Earle, Wilson—16. NEGATIVE—Mr. Stephenson—1. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. The Senate bill amending the Code of Public General Laws, relating to evidence, Was read the third time and postponed until to-morrow. The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 79th section of Article XXVI., of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Corporations, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Downs submitted the following message : By THE SENATE, March 29th, 1872. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We have received your message, asking for a Committee of Conference to reconsider the unfavorable report of a Select Committee, of a bill to prohibit stock running at large in Reistertown, in Baltimore county, and agree thereto. |
