On motion of Mr. Chapman,
The Joint Convention then adjourned.
On motion of Mr. Henkle, (the rules being suspended,)
Leave was granted Messrs. Henkle, Harig and Shipley to
introduce a bill to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 94, entitled
an Act to repeal sections 5, 6 and 8, of chapter 24, passed at
December Session 1835, entitled "an Act to authorise William
Krebs, Richard Linthicum and William Linthicum, to build
a bridge over Gwynn's Falls, at or near where the present
bridge stands, known as the Long Bridge," and to enact sub-
stitutes therefor.
Mr. Chapman submitted the following message :
By THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 5th,1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
Hon. W. Pinkney Whyte having been elected Governor of
this State, we propose with the concurrence of your Honor"
able Body the appointment of" a Joint Committee of the two
Houses, three on the part of the House and two in the Senate,
to wait on him, and request his attendance on Wednesday,
the 10th instant, at two o'clock, P. M., in the Senate Cham-
ber, to qualify according to the Constitution and form of
government of this State.
We have appointed Messrs. Chapman, Eareckson and
Eoutzahn, as said committee on the part of the House of
Delegates to meet such gentlemen as may be selected by your
Honorable Body.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read, assented to. and sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Henkle,
The House took up for consideration the order adopted on
yesterday, appointing all the Ministers, residents of Annapo-
lis, as Chaplains to this House,
Pending which,
Mr. Henkle moved that the vote by which said order was
adopted, be reconsidered,
The question recurring upon concurring in the motion,
On motion of Mr. Kirk,
