TUESDAY, March 19th, 1872.
The Senate met.
Prayer by Rev. Father Freitag.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford,..
Denson, Davis, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Longwell,
Miller, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck,
Wilson, Williams—21.
The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
On motion by Mr. Wilson,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Wilson, Longwell and,
Blake, to introduce a bill for the destruction of hawks and.
the protection of insectivorous birds in Prince George's.
county.
Mr. Tuck presented the petition of citizens of Annapolis.
against the passage of a law authorizing the County Com-
missioners of Anne Arundel county, to issue bonds in aid of
the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad.
Which was read and laid on the table.
Mr. Denson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,
The House bill entitled an Act to define the duties of the
Fire Inspector of Baltimore City.
Said bill was then read a second time.
Mr. Crawford, from a Select Committee, reported
A bill entitled an Act to remove gates from public roads
in Wicomico county.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably,
The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 92 of the
Act of 1868, chapter 471, relating to corporations, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.
Said bill was then read the second time.
Also, from the same Committee, reported favorably, on
The House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Chesapsake Warehouse Company of Baltimore City.
Said bill was read. the second time.
On motion by Mr. Denson,
