Resolved, That the Mayor be requested to transmit a copy
of the foregoing preambles and resolution to the Speaker of
the House of Delegates and to the President of the Senate, to
Toe by them laid before their respective Houses.
I hereby certify, that the above and aforegoing is a true
copy of Resolution No. 85, of the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, approved March 13th, 1872.

Which was read and referred to the Senators from Balti-
more City.
Mr. Wilson presented the petition of Thos. Clagett, asking
to be refunded a sum of money for outage paid on tobacco.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
Mr. Blake presented the following petition from Joseph
Hankey:
To the Honorable House of Delegates, of the State of Mary-
land, in Session assembled, the petition of Joseph Hanhey,
of the City of Baltimore, sheweth:
That at the General Assembly of the State of Maryland,
in the year 1870, a bill was passed, entitled "A Supplement
to an Act to Incorporate the Broadway and Locust Point
Steam Ferry Company of Maryland, and to grant, on cer-
tain conditions, the right to use the Wharf known as the
County Wharf, approved March 28, 1868."
That section 1, of said supplementary Act, grants to the
said Ferry Company the occupation and use of the wharf at
the foot of Haubert street, in the City of Baltimore, as a
wharf or landing place for the ferry boats of said Company,
to the exclusion of all other steam ferry boats plying in the
harbor of said city.
That section 2, of said supplementary Act, enacts "that it
shall not be lawful for any steam ferry boat, other than one
of those belonging to said Broadway and Locust Point Steam
.Ferry Company of Maryland, to land at or use either of the
tides or the ends of the said wharf at the foot of Haubert
street, nor the end or either of the sides of the wharf at the
foot of Broadway, under a penalty of twenty-five dollars for
each and every time go landing at or using said ends or sides
of said wharves.
That section 3, of said supplementary Act, enacts "that
