President, Blake, Carroll, Denson, Davis, Fields, Henry, Longwell, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Wilson, Williams—15. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. The President laid before the Senate the following com- munication from the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. MAYOR'S OFFICE, BALTIMORE, March 13, 1872, To the Hon. Henry Snyder, President of the Senate of Maryland: DEAR SIR —Herewith, please find a copy of tr e [re amble and resolutions of the Mayor and City -Council of Baltimore, "requesting the Legislature of Maryland to pass no law prohibiting the use of the wharf at the foot of Broadway, known as the Cou -Wharf, for the land ing of the steam ferry boats of the Broadway and Locust Point Ferry Company," which, in accordance with said reso. lution, I transmit to you and respectfully request you to present the same to the consideration of the Senate of Mary- land. J have the honor, to be, very respectfully, Your obedient servant, JOSHUA VANSANT, Mayor. PREAMBLES AND RESOLUTIONS. WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore have been informed that there is pending before the Legislature of Maryland, a bill, prohibiting the future use of the wharf at the foot of Broadway, known as the "County Wharf," as a landing place for the steam ferry boats which connect the city on the north side of the basin with the city on the south side of said basin ; and |
