Ordered, That all State or general bills be printed and
laid on the desks of the members of this House before being
read a second time.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Kirk submitted the following :
That leave be granted a Select Committee to introduce
a bill, entitled An Act to repeal Sections 82, 83, 84, 85,
87, and section 89 of the Act of 1862, Chapter 55, and Sec-
tion 94, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick Coun-
ty, relating to the mayor, aldermen, and common council of
Frederick, and to re-enact substitutes therefor.
Which was read.
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the words -'select committee," and insert
Frederick County.
Which was rejected.
The question then recurring upon the leave submitted by
Mr. Kirk,
It was adopted,
And Messrs. Kirk, Polk, Groome, Henkle, ami Miller,
constituted said committee. l
On motion of Mr. Duvall,
Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel delegation to intro-
duce a bill, authorizing and requiring the tax commissioners
of Anne Arundel County to subscribe to the capital stock of
the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad.
On motion of Mr. Miller,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary,
(hereafter to be appointed,) to introduce a bill entitled, An
Act to amend the sixteenth article of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to Trustees' Bonds.
On motion of Mr. Mearns,
Leave was granted to the Cecil delegation to introduce a
bill to empower the Governor to appoint a Notary Public
at the Rising Sun village, Cecil County, Md.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill to repeal so much of Chapter 189, Laws of 1870,
as relates to Dorchester County, commonly known as the
"Dog Law."
