terest received. The Treasurer shall make monthly returns
under oath to the County Commissioners of all taxes and
other moneys received by him, and at least once in every two
months, or oftener, if they deem expedient, the Commission-
ers shall make a dividend pro rata or otherwise, in their dis-
cretion, among those holding claims against the county of
the money in hand, or of so much as they may deem expe-
dient to distribute; provided, that jurors' and witneses' cer-
tificates shall be paid in full; and also the road expenses,
whenever the Supervisors' accounts may be adjusted; and the
'Commissioners shall, when requested, issue certificates of in-
debtedness to creditors of the county, which may he trans-
ferred, and afterwards paid as aforesaid to the holders there-
of, but certificates shall not be issued except for the amount
due, after deducting such credits as the county may be enti-
tled to.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the day of its passage.
Amend the title, so as to real as follows: "A bill, entitled
an Act to provide for the appointment of a Treasurer of Anne
Arundel county, and to amend and re-enact sections 82, 83,
84 and 195, of Article II., of the Code of Public Local Laws
for said county."
Which were severally read and adopted.
Said bill as amended, was then ordered to be engrossed, and
reprinted, for a third reading.
Mr. Tuck presented the petition of A. Hatten, George
Hambleton, and Elizabeth Septon, praying pensions.
Which were read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to pay to John Baggs,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot county, a sum of money,
or commissions on money collected for the State,
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to protect fish in the wa-
ters of Nanticoke River, from non-residents,
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 82, of
Article X., of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dor-
chester County," sub-title "Church Creek," an 1 to re-enact
the same with amendments,
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
