' 359 the General Assembly of Maryland, was this day presented. to His Excellency, the Governor, for his approval: An Act to amend an Act passed at January Session, 1867, chapter 108, entitled an Act to incorporate the Yearly Meet- ing of the Society of Friends, held in Lombard street, in the City of Baltimore, by adding an additional section thereto. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 872, of Arti- cle IV., of the Public Local Laws, relating to the City of Baltimore, entitled an Act to authorize the extension of the limits of the direct taxation within the City of Baltimore, be and the same are hereby repealed, and the following re- enacted in lieu thereof. Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. The Hon. J, T. Mason having delivered a communication from his Excellency, Gov. Whyte. On motion by Mr. Stephenson, The Senate proceeded to Executive business. Having resumed Legislative business, On motion by Mr. Blake, The Senate adjourned. THURSDAY, March 7, 1873. The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Henderson. Present at roll call the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Carroll, Crawford, Demon, Davis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck, Williams—20. The proceedings of yesterday were road and approved. Mr. Spencer presented the petition of sundry colored citi- zens, praying certain educational facilities. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu- cation. |
