Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary- land, That an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends, held on Lombard street, in the City of Baltimore, passed at January Session, 1867, chapter 108 be, and the same is hereby amended by add- ing the following additional section thereto to follow sec- tion 5. Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage. On motion by Mr. Spates, -' The proposed amendment was concurred in. Said bill as amended was then passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Jump, Blake, Longwell, Compton, Stephenson, Carroll, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Downs, Spencer, Earle, Steiner, Henry, Wilson—16. NEGATIVE—None. Also, The House hill, entitled an Act to add the following sec- tion to Article V. of the Code of Public Local Laws for Cal- vert county, under the head of "Collectors of Taxes," and providing for the collection of State and county taxes in said. county, Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs- Williams, Spencer and Downs. Also, The House bill, entitled an Act to refund to the Western National Bank of Baltimore certain taxes paid in error, Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Finance. Also, The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 9 of the Acts of Assembly of 1868, entitled an Act to incorporate the St. Martin's Inlet and Navigation Com- pany, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations. |
