The Senate hill, entitled an Act to repeal section 10, of Ar- ticle XXXVII, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to the pay of witnesses attending the Circuit Courts or Or- phans' Courts of this State, and re-enact the same with amendments, Being upon a third reading, Mr. Stephenson (by unanimous consent) moved to amend the bill so as to strike out "Harford" in the proviso. Which was adopted. Said bill as amended was then read the second time, and ordered to be engrosed for a third reading. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to add an additional sec- tion to Article 30, of the Code of Public General Laws, re- lating to crimes and punishments, under the sub-heading "Embezzling Property and Writings," Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE . Messrs. President, Longwell, Blake, Stepehenson, Compton, Spates, Carroll, Bellman, Downs, Spencer, Earle, Steiner, Henry, Tuck, Jump, Wilson—16. NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and returned. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends. Endorsed, "Considered, and passed by yeas and nays" with the following amendment : AMENDMENT PROPOSED. A bill, entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at Janu- ary Session 1867, chapter 108, entitled an Act to incorporate the Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends, held on Lom- bard street, in the City of Baltimore, by adding an ad- ditional section thereto. |
