328 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 4, Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 47, Article- XVIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Clerks of Courts," so far as the same applies to Talbot county, and to re-enact the same with amendments, Being upon its second reading, Mr. Jump submitted the following amendments: AMENDMENTS .PROPOSED. Section 1, line 3, after word "County," insert "entitled Clerks of Courts." Add additional section : Section 3. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage. Which were adopted. Said bill, as amended, was read the second time and or- dered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Steiner, Leave of absence was granted to Mr. Crawford until Wednesday next. Mr. Tuck presented the petition of Francis Denmead and others, asking an amendment of hill relating to "advance mortgages," Was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to add new sections to Article X., of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Attachments," Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Tuck moved to reconsider the vote by which the hill changing the name of the Pittsburg and Connellsville Rail- road Company, failed to pass. Which was adopted. On motion by Mr. Earle, Said bill was then laid an the table. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to pay M. A. Newell a. sum of money, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as follows : |
