Mr. Denson offered the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out the word "to," in the title, -and insert the
words "in the City of Baltimore," sub-title.
Strike out in line 4, section 1, the words "of this State,"
and insert the words relating to the City of Baltimore, sub-
title "docks."
Which were adopted.
And said bill as amended was read the second time and
ordered. to be engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Williams, from the Committee on the Library, to
-which had been referred
The House resolutions requesting His Excellency, the
Governor, to cause to bo furnished to the Chicago Law In-
stitute, certain books from the State Library,'
Reported said resolutions with the following amendment:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out after the words "transmitted," to the words
City of Chicago, and insert in lieu thereof, the words
-"Chicago Law Institute."
Also,
Amend by striking out all after the words "History of
Maryland."
Which were adopted.
Said resolutions, as amended, were adopted, and read the
second time.
On motion by Mr. Williams,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to report a bill to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments, sections 44 and 47, of Article XXIV., of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Conveyancing."
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to amend and re-enact the
sixth section of the Act of 1870, entitled an Act to provide
for maintaining and improving the public roads in Anne
Arundel county,
Was read a second, time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
.third reading.
The hour of 12 o'clock having arrived, the order of the
day, being the amendment proposed by Mr. Carroll to the
majority report of the Committee on Finance, upon the sub-
