282 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 27.
The House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 10, of Ar-
ticle LXVII, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating
to "Notaries Public,"
Reported said bill with the following amendment:
Amend by adding : "Section 2. And be it enacted, That
'this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage."
Which was adopted.
.Said bill, as amended, was read the second time.
Also, from the same Committee, to which leave had been
granted, reported
A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Ar-
ticle XXX, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
Crimes and Punishments, under the sub-heading "Embez-
zling Property and Writings."
Which was read the first time, and ordered to be printed.
Also, reported
A bill entitled an Act to add new sections to Article X, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Attachments," pro-
viding for attachments on original process.
Which was read the first time, and ordered to be printed.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
had been referred
The House bill entitled an Act to repeal, amend and re-
enact chapter 369, parsed at January Session, 1870, entitled.
an Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Harford
county to sell the Poorhouse farm, and to erect suitable
.buildings for the paupers in said county,
Reported favorably thereon, and
'The said bill was read the second time.
"Mr. Stephenson presented the memorial of twenty-four
citizens of Harford county, praying the passage of an op-
tional liquor law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Mr. Tuck submitted the following
JOINT RESOLUTIONS.
WHEREAS, It is represented that the building used as a
Postoffice in the City of Annapolis, is unsuited for the pur-
pose, and that no other can he procured to be adapted for
such use; and whereas, the rents now paid for the Postoffice
building, the Internal Revenue office for this district, and
