Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to continue in force an Act
entitled an Act to regulate the fees of Constables, passed
January Session, 1865, chapter LXVII,
Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Stephenson offered the following amendment:
Section 1, line 7—Strike out all after the word "the," and.
insert, General Assembly shall repeal or modify the same.
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion by Mr. Compton,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in-
duce a bill, entitled an Act to direct the Comptroller to pay
to the Hagerstown Academy the annual appropriation granted by resolution number forty-six, of December Session, 1811.
Mr. Compton, from the Committee on Education, to which
had been committed Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal
resolution number forty-six of the December Session, 1811
relating; to the Hagerstown Academy,
Reported unfavorably thereon, and
The report was adopted.
Also,
From the Committee on Education, to which leave had been
granted, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to direct the Comptroller to pay to
the Hagerstown Academy the Annual appropriation granted
by resolution number forty-six, of December Session, 1811.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Blake presented the petition of Susan Wilkinson, ask-
ing a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-sions.
Also,
The petition of Theresa Griffith, asking the same.
Which was read and referred to the same Committee.
Mr. Wilson presented the petition of Wm. D. Claggett, of
Prince George's county, asking to be placed on the pension
rolls.
