Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judiciary Proceedings, to which had been referred, House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 15 of Article L., entitled " Juries," of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with amendments', giving to the State the right of peremptory challenge in certain cases, Reported said bill with the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED : Insert in second line of section 1, after the word " Laws," the words " entitled Juries." Which was adopted. Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time, Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judiciary Proceedings, to which bad been referred Senate bill, entitled an Act to amend and to add to the 11th section of Article X. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled " Attachments," Reported unfavorably thereon, and, On motion by Mr. Miller, Further consideration of said report was postponed. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to which leave had been granted, reported, A bill, entitled an Act to amend an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Yearly Meeting of the Society of Friends, held on Lombard street, in the City of Baltimore, passed March 4, 1867, by adding an additional section thereto. "Which was read the first time. Also, A bill, entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Franklin Savings' Bank, of Frederick, passed January Session, 1856, chapter 329, repealing the 5th section thereof, and re-enacting the same with amendments. Which was read the first time. Also, A bill, entitled an Act to amend the Act of March Ses- sion, 1865, chapter 147, entitled an Act to incorporate the Empire Coal Company, of Allegany county, by adding thereto certain additional sections. |
