Toon as possible, a certified copy of the hill lately filed by W.
W. Corcoran, in the Courts of the District of Columbia,
against the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, with a
copy of the rule? of practice of said Courts; also, a certified
copy of all action that has been taken by the President and
Directors of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company relating to Slid suit, a certified copy of the answer filed, (or to ho
filed, by the Canal Company in said suit;, the mimes and resi-
dence of the counsel (employed, or to be employed, by the
'Canal Company to defend said suit, the compensation to be
paid counsel, with a copy of all papers "or action taken) relating in any way to said hint by the President and Directors of
.said Canal Company."
I shall have to obtain from the Clerk of the Supreme Court
Tor the District of Columbia certified copies (if the hill filed
by Mr. Corcoran and the answer of the Canal Company, also
a. copy of the rules of practice of said Court.
The other information asked for by the aforesaid order can
be readily given.
As soon as I can obtain from Washington the certified co-
pies required by the order, I shall take great pleasure in
transmitting them to the Senate.

Mr. Denson presented the petition of Eleanora Weaver,
wife of the late Daniel Weaver, asking a pension.

sions.
Mr. Claggett presented the petition of Ann Morley, of
Washington county, praying a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Claggett presented the petition of Magdalene Wright,
of Washington county, asking a pension.
' Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Denson presented the petition of Joseph Neal, of Baltimore City, praying that an Act be passed authorizing the
Appeal Tax Court to reassess the properly in Hanover Street
in said city, known as Nos. 58 and 60.
