Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, to
-which leave had been granted, reported a bill, entitled an
Act to make valid certain bequest of Mary C. Reynolds, of
Frederick county.
Which was read the first time.
Senate bill, entitled an Act giving the sanction of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, to certain legacies bequeathed
by the last will and testament of George Williams, (colored,)
late of Frederick county, deceased, to the Trustees of the
Asbur'y African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Frederick
City, Maryland,
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
Senate bill, entitled a Supplement to the Act passed by the
General Assembly of Maryland, at December Session, 18 51,
-chapter 54, entitled an Act to incorporate the Frederick and
Woodsborough Turnpike Road Company,
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to pre-
pare and report a bill, entitled an Act to allow a pension to
Margaret Gardiner, the widow of George Gardiner, a soldier
in the war of 1812.
Mr. Spates called up Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal
Sections 170, 171 and 172 of Article., of the Code of Public
Local Laws, under the head of Allegany county, relating to
weights and measures, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Which was read the second time.
Senate bill, entitled an Act. to permit Frederick Charles
-Edmund Pet re, an alien, to hold certian real estate,
Being upon its third reading.
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
The word "not" was inserted in the first line of section 2,
The bill, as amended, was read the second time and order-
ed to be engrossed lor a third reading.
