JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 18,
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
teen granted, reported a bill, entitled a Supplement to the
Act of Assembly of Maryland, at December Session. 1831,
chapter 54, entitled an Act to incorporate the Frederick and
"Woodsborough Turnpike Road Company.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Stephenson, from a Select Committee, to which leave
lad been granted, reported a bill, entitled an Act to legalize
the bequest of Mrs. Ann Stump, late of Harford County, to
the Deer Creek Harmony Church of Harford County.
Which was read the first time.
Mr, Spates, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
been granted, reported a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section
O, 171, and 172 of Article I. of the Code of Public Local
Laws, under the head of " Allegany County," relating to
weights and measures, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Williams, from a Select Committee, to which leave
had been granted, reported a bill 11, entitled an Act to provide
for the repair and improvement of the public roads in Calvert county.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which leave had been granted, reported a bill, entitled an
Act to give certain deeds wherein the amount of unpaid pur-
chase money may express the effect of mortgage deeds and
reserve the vendor's lien thereon in Allegany county,
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Steiner presented the report of the Board of Visitors
of Frederick College.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
ction.
'Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported un-favorably on the Memorial of the Faculty of Dental Surgery,
asking aid from the State.
The report was adopted.
Mr. Claggett, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-ings, to which had been referred House? Resolutions in relations to the matter of W. W. Corcoran vs. the President and
erectors of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, made
a favorable report thereon.
