Whereupon, it appearing that no person had received a majority of all the votes cast, the Chairman declared that nc person had feeen elected by the Joint Convention as Senator from Maryland to the Congress of the United States. The Joint Convention then proceeded to the fifth ballot. Upon the call of the roll, the following vote was had :
Whereupon, it appearing that no person had received a majority of all the votes cast, the Chairman declared that no person had been elected by the Joint Convention as Senator from Maryland to the Congress of the United States. On motion of Mr, Fields, At 1.15 o'clock, P. M., the Joint Convention adjourned, until to-morrow at 12 o'clock, noon. At 1^ P. M, the Senators returned to the Senate Chamber, and resumed Legislative business. On motion by Mr. Densou, The Senate adjourned. |
