will and testament of Geo. Williams (colored,) late of Fred-
erick county, deceased, to the trustees of the African Metho-
dist Episcopal Church in Frederick city, Md.
On motion by Mr, Fields, it was
Ordered, That the State Librarian shall procure and fur-
nish to each Senator a copy of the Code, and the supplement*
and the Constitution of 1867, and that they be returned at
the end of the Session.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions, hereafter
to be appointed, to prepare and report a bill, entitled an Act
to provide for the payment of pensions to the Maryland
soldiers of the war of 1812, and to the widows of deceased
soldiers of that war, supplemental to the Act of 1870, chap-
ter 477.
On motion by Mr. Fields, it was
Ordered, That W, G. Purnell and E. A. Smith be ap-
pointed Committee Clerks to the Senate, and W. S Arringdale, Folder.
Mr. Blake submitted the following order :
Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn to-day, it stand
adjourned until 11 o'clock Tuesday, the 9th inst,
Mr. Compton moved to strike out the words "Tuesday, the
9th inst ," and insert in lieu thereof the words "Monday, the
8th inst., at 11 o'clock, A. M."
On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative.
On motion by Mr. Fields,
Ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Stephenson submitted the following order :
Ordered, That until a contract shall be made and approved
by the Senate fur its printing for the Session, the Secretary
of the Senate be authorized and directed to have the printing
of the Senate done by Messrs. Slater & Iglehart, at the usual
rates.
Mr. Fields moved to postpone the further consideration of
said order, until Tuesday the 9th inst., at 12 o'clock.
On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative, by yeas and nays,
