Said bill was then returned to the Senate.
Mr. Bond, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to provide for the repair
and improvement of the Public Roads in Calvert County,
Which was read a second time, and
On motion of Mr. Bond,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill was made the order of the day for Thursday next, the
1st of February, at 1 o'clock, P. M.
The Speaker laid before the House the invitation of the
Grand Division of the Sons of Temperance, to the Speaker
and Members of the House of Delegates, to attend a public
lecture on the subject of Temperance, to be delivered by the
Rev. Dr. A. Sims, in the Assembly Rooms, this evening at
9 o'clock'.
Which was read, and
On motion of Mr. dark, of Baltimore City,
The invitation was accepted.
Also,
The invitation of the Teachers and Scholars of St. Mary's
Catholic School of this City, to attend an exhibition to be
held at St. Mary's Hall, on Duke of Gloucester street, in this
City. on this Thursday evening at 7 1/2 o'clock.
Which was read, and
On motion of Mr. dark, of Baltimore City,
The invitation was accepted.
The bill, entitled an Act to renew, alter, and amend an
Act to incorporate the Baltimore Manual Labor School for
Indigent Boys,
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading,
The bill, entitled an Act to amend the Charter of the Con-
tinental Fire and Marine Insurance Company of Baltimore,
