Strike out in sixth line, section 2, the words, " shall not,"
after the .word " and," and insert the words, "no mort-
gage, or deed in the nature of a mortgage shall," so that it
will then read as follows: "And no mortgage, or deed.
in the nature of a mortgage, shall be a lien," &c.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Banks submitted the following amendment:
" Provided that nothing in this Act shall apply to Baltimore-
county."
Which was read.
Mr. Bowie submitted the following amendment to the
amendment:
After the words "Baltimore county," add, "and Prince
George's county."
Pending the consideration whereof,
On motion of Mr. Banks,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the bill, with pending amendments, was made the order of the
day for Tuesday, the 30th inst., at 1 o'clock, P. M.
Mr. Porter, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections
170, 171, and 172 of Article I. of the Code of Public Local
Laws, under the head of Allegany County, relating to
Weights and Measures, and to re-enact the same, with amend-
ments.
Which was read a second time.
On motion of Mr. Clark, of Baltimore City, (the rules
being suspended,)
The House proceeded to the consideration of the Senate bill,
entitled an Act to change the name of the Children's Aid
Society of Baltimore, to the name, The Henry Watson
Children's Aid Society of Baltimore, and otherwise to amend.
the constitution of said Society.
Said bill being upon a third reading,
The bill was then read a third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:
