The question then recurring upon the adoption of the re-
port submitted by Mr. Stone,
It was adopted.
The following named officers elect then appeared, were
duly qualified, and entered upon the discharge of their re-
spective duties:
James A, Bramble, Sergeant-at-Arma, John T. Dawkins,
Journal Clerk, Samuel W. Storm, E. G. Gardner, and
Samuel Glanville, Committee Clerks, Conrad Prince and.
James H. Petticord, Doorkeepers, Henry F. Palmer, Folder.
Mr. Kirk submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the Committee on Claims (when appointed)
pay to the officers of the last House of Delegates not re-ap-
pointed, who have officiated in the organization of the present
House, five days per diem and. mileage.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Travers submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the usual number of copies of the Journal
of the House be furnished to each member.
Which was adopted.
Hon. Richard O. Hollyday, Secretary of State, delivered
the following communication from his Excellency, the Gov-
ernor :
