1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 1339-
The bill entitled an Act to forbid a member of the Gene-
ral Assembly of Maryland or other officers of the State,
holding any other State office of profit or trust created, or to
be created by the Governor and General Assembly, or by any
law relating to the State of Maryland, and to forbid his be-
ing interested directly or indirectly, in any contract to which
the State is a party.
Said bill having been read a first time,
Mr. Spencer moved that said bill be read a second time
this day.
The question then recurring upon sustaining the motion,
Mr. Spencer demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained, the yeas and nays were
called and appeared as follows :

On motion of Mr. Stewart,
The vote by which the bill entitled an Act- to appropriate
a sum of money to pay the claims of Jacob Dahl for saddles
furnished Company B, First Battalion Cavalry, Maryland
National Guards, was rejected this day for want of a" Con-
stitutional majority, was reconsidered.
