proceeded to the steamboat, but as no Members of the House
of Delegates were there, I then went to the cars and notified
the following Members, Messrs, Staylor, Travers and Hil-
ton, who failed to obey the summons.

Which was read.
Mr. Bowie submitted the following order :
"Whereas, Messrs. Travers, Staylor and Hilton, have dis-
obeyed the summons of this House, and thereby treated with
contempt the authority of this House,
Be it and it is hereby ordered, That the Sergeant-at-arms
do place them under arrest and bring them before the bar of
the House to be reprimanded by the Speaker.
Which was read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of order :
Mr. Witson moved to lay the order on the table,
The question then recurring upon concurring in the motion,
Mr. Kirk demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained, the yeas and nays were
