The bill entitled an Act to refund certain sums of money
erroneously paid into the Treasury of the State by John K.
Harvey, one of the late collectors of county and State taxes
for Baltimore county,
Also, returned,
The" bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of Article
XLV. of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Husband
and Wife," and to substitute the following in lien thereof,
Endorsed, "Read a third time, and rejected for want of a.
constitutional majority." <
Also, returned,
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for Calvert county, to transcribe and index the
Chancery Dockets of said Court, and to authorize and em-
power the Commissioners of Calvert county to pay to said"
Clerk the usual fees for transcribing the same,
Indorsed, "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings, and the report adopted."
Also, returned
The bill entitled an Act ratifying and confirming the ap-
pointment, by the Governor, of Daniel Clark and Sydney I
Wailes, Commissioners on behalf of the State of Maryland,
to prosecute the settlement of the claims of the said State
against the Government of the United States, for expenses
incurred under the Act of Congress, approved on the 27th
day of July, 1861, and fixing the commissions on the amount
hereafter to be recovered by them and paid into the Treasury
of said State, and to be paid to them in full of their services
and expenses, and providing for the filling of any vacancy
caused by the death, or refusal, or failure, to act as such of
the Commissioners herein named,
Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of Noah Webster,
Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on'
Finance, and the report adopted."

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of St. John's Col-
