Mr. Stewart, Chairman of the Committee on Militia, re-
ported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to release the bonds of
captains of military companies from liability for non-return
of uniforms in certain specified cases.
Which was read a second time. \
Mr. Stone, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act supplement to an Act, passed at
January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to es-
tablish and incorporate an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb
of the State of Maryland, and also an Act passed at January
Session, 1868, chapter 409, entitled an Act to amend and
add additional sections to the Act of 1867, chapter 247, also
an Act passed at January Session, 1870, chapter 422, enti-
tled an Act supplementary to the Act passed at January
Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to establish an
Act to establish an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb of the
State of Maryland and its supplements.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavo-
rable report of the Committee,
Mr. Bowie moved to substitute the bill for the unfavorable
report of the Committee.
The question recurring upon sustaining the motion,
Mr. Bowie demanded the previous question.
The question then being, "shall the main question be
now put ?"
It was decided in the affirmative.
The question then recurring upon concurring in the
motion to substitute the bill for the unfavorable report,
Mr. Turner demanded the yeas and nays.
The demand being sustained, the yeas and nays were
called and appeared, as follows :
