AMBNDMENT PROPOSED.
Under title of "Inspections," line 3, strike out the word
"seven," and insert the word "six."
Pending the consideration whereof,
Mr. Vickers demanded the previous question.
The question then being,
"Shall the main question be now put?" it was decided in
the affirmative.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment submitted by Mr. Vickers,
It was rejected.
On motion of Mr. Steele,
At 3 1/2 o'clock, P. M., the House took a recess until ft
o'clock this P. M.

Mr. dark, Chairman of the Committee on Public Build-
ings, (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably
The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to pay for necessary repairs of the State House, and
paving the carriage way to the Governor's Mansion.
Which was read second time.
