' Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Chapter 7, sec. 3, add at end of section: "And in districts where there is a considerable German population, the Board of County School Commissioners are authorized to cause the German language to be taught, if they shall think proper so to do." Which was adopted. Mr. Griswold submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. After "Maryland" in fourth line, insert the "History of the State of Mary land." Which was rejected. Mr. Whitson submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Line 1, strike out the words "forty-five," and insert the word "fifty." Which was adopted. Mr. Groome submitted the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Section 3, line 3, strike out "the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Maryland," and insert the same words after the word "philosophy," and add the words "History of Maryland," in line 5, of the same < section. Which was read, Mr. Stewart submitted the following amendment to the amendment- AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Before the words "History of Maryland," insert the word "McSherry's." Which was rejected. |
