The House then proceeded to the consideration of the spe-
cial order of the day, being
The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and
11, of Article — - of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Small Pox," and to re-enact the same with amendments,
and to repeal section 10, of said Article.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Duvall submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out section "two," and insert the following :
Section 2. And be it enacted. That the present State agent
shall remain in office during the term for which he was ap-
pointed, and nothing in this Act shall be so construed as to
authorize his removal, so long as he shall comply with the
provisions of this Act, and of the sections of the aforesaid
Article of the Code of Public General Laws not hereby re-
pealed.
The amendment was adopted, and
The bill, as amended, read a second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr, Spencer, (the rules being suspended.)
The House proceeded to the consideration of
The bill entitled an Act to Incorporate the Baltimore,
Hampden and Lake Roland Railroad Company.
Said bill being upon a third reading,
The bill was then read a third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:
