The House then proceeded to the consideration of
The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Butchers' and
Drovers' Bank of Baltimore,
Which had been returned from the Senate on the 14th instant, and considered with proposed amendments.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
In line 2, section 10, after the word "to," insert the word
"repeal."
And said banking institution provided for by this Act,
shall pay to the State, in augmentation of the Free School
Fund of this State, as is provided for in section 3, chapter
144, of the Act of January Session, 1865, and in case of re-
fusal on the part? of said banking institutions to pay sum, as
is provided for by the Act of 1865, to the Free School Fund of
this State, as the same may become due, the said Comptrol-
ler is hereby authorized and directed to resort to such course
in law as he may deem most- expedient, to enforce the pay-
ment of the same,
On motion of Mr. Kirk,
The Senate amendments were concurred in, and
The bill, as amended, passed by yeas and nays, as follows:
