1016 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 25,
MONDAY, March 25, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Highley, Chaplain.
Present at the call of the roll, the following members :
Messrs. German, Speaker, Colton,of Saint Mary's, Dunbar,
Wilmer, Henkle, Bond, Sparrow, Chapman, Shipley, Tur-
ner, Spencer, Banks, Butler, Goldsborough, Waller, Dough-
erty, Smith, Vickers, Radcliffe, Groome, Penington, Scott,
Sasscer, Bowie, Franklin, Parker, Miller, Streett, Hardcastle, Deweese, McCosker, Hamilton, T. H., Cooper, Hamilton,
C E., Jamart, Foster, Staylor, Stewart, Travers, Clark, of
Baltimore City, Cotton, of Baltimore City, Kirk, Chaisty,
Harig, Feig, McColgan, Markland, Griswold, Young, of
Wash., Whitson, dark, of Mont., Porter, Coles, Young,
of AIle , Robinette, Steele, Lamotte, L, A. J., Polk, La-
motte, H. H., Linthicum, Johnson, Langrell—62.
Mr. Radcliffe presented the petition of W. H. Grace, and
nineteen others, of Dorchester county.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Chapman submitted, the following order:
Ordered, It be entered on the Journal that Hon. F. Stone
is detained from his seat in this House by sickness.
Which was adopted.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills,
severally endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 4, of chapter 71,
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
the January -Session, 1872, and entitled an Act to amend
the Act amending the Act incorporating the Western Mary-
land. Railroad Company, and to give additional powers to
said company.
Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Gris-
wold, Travers and T. H. Hamilton. !?
Also, .
The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 06, of Article X.
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Attachments,"
and to re-enact the same as amended.
"Which, was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
