1872 OF1 THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 1073
the State of Maryland with the provisions of an Act of Con-
gress, approved July 2nd, 1862, entitled an Act donating
public lands to the several States and Territories, which nay
promote colleges for the benefit of agriculture and the me-
chanics arts.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed
at January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to
establish and incorporate an Asylum for the Deaf and
Dumb of the State of Maryland; and also an Act passed
January Session, 1868, chapter 409, entitled an Act
to amend and add additional sections to the Act of 1867,
chapter 247; also, an Act passed at January Session, 1870,
chapter 422, entitled an Act supplementary to the Act
passed at the January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled
an Act to establish an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb of the
State of Maryland, and its supplements.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Talbot county, in their discretion, to divide
the. districts of said county into election precincts, and to
designate the places of holding elections therein.
Which was read a first time and referred to a Select Com-
mittee, consisting of Messrs. Butler, Goldsborough and Ear-
eckson.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 79, 80, 81,
82, 83, 84 and 85 of Article XXXV. of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Elections," sub-title " Representatives
in Congress," and to enact the following in lieu thereof.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Elections.
Also,
The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 89, Article
LVI, of the Code of Public General Laws, title " Licenses,"
and to re-enact the same as amended.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.
Also, returned the following bills, severally endorsed
"passed by yeas and nays:"
