Mr. Turner, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,
a bill entitled an Act to make valid the action of the local
Board of Supervisors of the First Road District of Baltimore
County, in condemning and opening a road for public travel,
leading into the Fredericktown Turnpike road in Baltimore
County.
Which was read a first time.
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal Section ^, Article
LXIV. of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to mort-
gages, and to re-enact the game with amendments,
Being upon a second reading.
Mr Clark, of Baltimore City, submitted 1 the following
amendment:
Section 'J. And be. it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Which was adopted.
The bill as amended was then read a second time, rind
Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill, entitled an Act to repeal Section 15, Article L.,
titled "Juries," of (lie Code of Public General Laws, and to
re-enact the same with amendments, giving the State the-
right of peremptory challenge in certain cases,
Was read a second time, and
Ordered to be engrossed for a third leading.
On motion of Mr, McColgan,
The House then proceeded to the consideration of the order
of the day, being
The hill, entitled an Act to repeal an Act, entitled an
Act to repeal Sections 5, 6 and. 8 of chapter 24, passed
December Session, 1835, entitled an Act to authorize .Wm.
Krebs, Richard Linthicum and William Linthicum, to
build a bridge over Gwynn's Falls, at or near where the
present bridge stands, known as the ''Long Bridge," and to
enact substitutes therefor, passed at January Session, 1867
chapter 94.
Said bill being upon its passage,
On motion of Mr. McColgan,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and. the
bill recommitted to the Select Committee on that subject.
