BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
March 22, 1872.
Gentlemen, of the Senate:
We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to
the House the Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal the
Act of 1870, chapter 394, entitled an Act to amend the Act
of Assembly of 1867, chapter 341, relating to the valuation
and assessment of property in this State, and reported unfavorable from the House Committee on Ways and Means.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Streett, from the Committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to pay Frederick Raine, a sum of
money due him for publishing the Laws of the Session of
1868.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Arti-
cle XXI., of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Com-
missions," to take acknowledgments, subjecting said commissions to the payment of a tax.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A. bill entitled an Act to authorize the payment of a bal-
ance of sewerage for State House and Governor's Mansion.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal the laws imposing the
State tax, known as the Direct Tax.
Which was read a first time. ;
Also, favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to prohibit the sale or gift of intox-
icating liquors in Stockton District, being Election District
Number 8, of Worcester county.
Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of
Election Districts Numbers 2 and 3, of Dorchester county, to
determine by ballot whether spirituous or fermented liquors
shall be sold in said districts, or a license granted for the
same.
