On motion of Mr. Hammond, (the rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill en-
titled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the session of 1868,
entitled "Public Education," providing a general system of
Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland, and to repeal
all laws inconsistent therewith, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

On motion of Mr. Hammond,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill made the special order of the day for Thursday , 24th in-
stant, at 12 o'clock.
