So the amendment was adopted.

Mr. Marbury submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, sub-section, "Schools," strike out all after the
word " laws," in line 16, and insert: and that the Baltimore
Female College shall be paid fifteen hundred dollars.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, sub-section, "Contingent Fund," after the
word "Senate," insert the words: and Chief Clerk of the
House of Delegates.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Colton submitted the following amendment :

Sec. 1, sub-section "Contingent Fund," at the end of line
17, insert: for publishing the list of defaulters the sum of
four thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Wootton submitted the following amendment:
Sec. 1, sub-section "Contingent Fund," line 8, strike out
the words "five hundred," and insert the words: one thou-
sand.

Which was rejected.
Mr. Marbury submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the words "five hundred," and insert the words:
seven hundred and fifty.
