The Speaker laid before the House the petition of R. S.
Stewart, Benj. C. Howard, Thos. White and John Morris,
Commissioners of the State Lunatic Asylum, asking for an
appropriation for said Asylum.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of 15 Fire Insurance
Companies in the City of Baltimore, against the establish-
ment of a Fire Patrol,
