The bill entitled an Act making appropriations for the
support of the Government for the year ending on the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and seventy-one.

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:

Sec 1. "Judiciary," line 21, after the word "city," in-
sert the words: and the several Circuit Judges.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McLane submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1, title "Judiciary," at end of line 22, add: four
hundred and fifty dollars to James S. Franklin, Clerk of the
Court of Appeals, for recording the laws of the present ses-
sion of the General Assembly.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1. "Militia," line 2, after the word "dollars," insert
the words: tor contingent expenses, stationery, &c., of the
Adjutant General, five hundred dollars.
