812 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 16,

Act passed at January session, 1866, entitled an Act to in-
corporate a Company to build a Turnpike Road from Union
Bridge, Carroll county, to Unionville, Frederick county, and
to re-enact the same with amendments,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a

third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of the Switzer Bridge
Company and Richard S. Stewart, and authorizing the Coun-
ty Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to correct the
errors in the assessment of their property,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third, reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
for the establishment of an Academy at Elkton, in Cecil
county, passed at December session, 1817,

Was read a second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an Act to incor-
porate the President and Directors of the Chesapeake Fire
Insurance Company, of Baltimore,

Was read a second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal section 39, of
Article 20, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Tal-
bot County," and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read a second time.

The hour of 8 o'clock having arrived, being the hour
agreed upon by concurrent message of the two Houses,

The Senate of Maryland entered the Hall of the House
and took the seats assigned them upon the floor.

The Speaker then introduced the Hon. R. B. Roosevelt, of
New York, who proceeded to address the Joint Assembly
upon the subject of Fish, their culture, &c.

Upon the conclusion of the address of Mr. Roosevelt,

On motion of Mr. Webb,

The Joint Assembly then adjourned.

On motion of Mr. Shipley,

At 10 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until to-morroir
morning at 11 o'clock.
