On motion of Mr. Colton,

Referred to a Select Committee of one from each county,
and each Legislative district of the City of Baltimore.

And the following constituted said Committee:

Messrs. Colton, Loker, Wilmer, Baldwin, of Anne Arun-
del, Duke, Mitchell, Shipley, Hammond, Brattan, Meekins,.
Richards, Duvall, Brown, Purnell, Harris, Hopkins, Garey,
Hamilton, Collins, Murdock, Hilton, Wilson, of Allegany,
Winters, German, Crawford.

Also,

Returned the Joint Resolutions in reference to the claim of
the State against the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company,

Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on
Finance and unfavorable report of the Committee adopted."

Also delivered the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

March 16th, 1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing a Joint Assem-
bly of the two Houses at eight o'clock this evening, to meet
the Commissioners of Fisheries of the State of New York,
who will there,-by invitation of the General Assembly, lec-
ture upon the subject of the culture and preservation of
Fish, and concur therein.

Secretary.
Which was read,

On motion of Mr. Merrick, (the rules being suspended,)
The House took up for consideration,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 37, 38, 39 and:
40, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Licenses,"
and to substitute in lieu thereof, the following sections.

Said bill being upon a third reading.
Pending the consideration whereof,
On motion of Mr. Beck,

At 3 o'clock, P. M., the House took a recess until 7 1/2 o'clock
this P. M.
