Which was read, assented to and sent to the, Senate.

Mr. Hammond, Chairman of the Committee on Education,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at the ses-
sion of 1868, entitled "Public Education," providing a general
system of free public schools for the State of Maryland, and
to repeal all laws inconsistent therewith, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act directing the Comptroller of the
Treasury to cause to be paid to Wm. Frizzell a sum of money
erroneously paid into the Treasury by the said Wm. Frizzell.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of money to en-
able the Directors of the Maryland Institution for the In-
struction of the Blind to pay off an indebtedness existing
against that Institution.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, to whom was referred

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 4 of an Act passed
January seshion, 1808, chapter 466, entitled an Act to run,
define and mark the dividing line between Prince George's
and Montgomery counties, and re-enact the same so as to
read as follows, reported the same

With proposed amendments as a substitute therefor.

Pending the consideration of which,

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

The bill was recommitted to the Committee on Ways and
Means.
