TUESDAY, March 15th, 1870.

The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Dr. Edwards.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Latrobe, (Speaker,) Loker, Beck, Wilmer, Kil-
bourn, Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, Duke, Mitchell, Chap-
man, Carroll, Cameron, Shipley, Gatch, Choate, Tur-
ner, Hammond, Hardcastle, of Talbot, Brattan Langford,
Harrington, Meekins, Touchstone, Owens, Richards, Biddle,
Mar bury, Wootton, Thomas, of Queen Anne's, Brown, Den-
nis, Purnell, Thomas, of Frederick, Bowlus, McCreery,
Ritter, White", Baldwin, of Harford, Hopkins, Hardcastle, of
Caroline, Garey, Sanner, Hamilton, Morse, Blake, Webb,
Wilson, of Baltimore city, Wiley, McLane, Colton, Kirk,
Collins, Markland, Marshall, Hoblitzell, Neill, Murdock,
Sword, Hilton, Watkins, Kean, Standish, Myers, Shower,
Jordan, Winters, Grouse, Merrick, German, Crawford,
Gordy.—70.

The Speaker laid before the House, the memorial of Chris-
tian Ax, B. F. Newcomer, Jacob Trust, M. C. Walters and
others, citizens of Baltimore, praying an appropriation for
the Maryland Eye Infirmary.

Which was road and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Dennis presented the petition of citizens of Somerset
county, in favor of abolishing Wood Inspections.

Also,

The petition of citizens of Newtown, Worcester county,
asking the abolition of Wood Inspections.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Inspections.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of J. S. Miller, Wm.
A. Miller, and 22 other citizens of Frederick county, praying
the passage of a law requiring all municipal corporations to
pay all jail fees incurred by the imprisonment of persons
committed by such authorities.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick Delega-
tion.

Mr. Gatch presented the memorial of the Judges of the
Circuit Court for Baltimore county, asking for a complete
list of law books for said Court.
