Which was read a first time.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed by the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1868, chapter 238, entitled
"Licenses," so as to empower traders to sell the license with
the stock of goods.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the "Spa City
Hotel Company," of Bladensburg, Prince George's county,
Maryland.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 17, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Railroads."

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Internal Improvements.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills,
severally endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."

The bill entitled an Act to provide for building a bridge
over the Gunpowder river, at Warren's factory, in Baltimore
county.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commissioners of
Baltimore county to appoint an additional Constable for dis-
trict No, 5, in said county.

The bill entitled an Act for the better protection of birds
in Allegany county.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate Towsontown, in
Baltimore county.

The bill entitled an Act to provide for the erection of a
bridge over the Gunpowder river, at Cromwell's Ford, in
Baltimore county.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mutual Building
Association of Annapolis, to construct a bridge from the
City of Annapolis over Spa creek, in Anne Arundel county.

The bill entitled an Act to change the provisions of section
1, of Article 11, of the Constitution of this State, title, "Bal-
timore City," relating to the term of office of the Mayor of
said city, as provided in and by section 9 of said Article.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
