The Speaker laid before the House the following report of
Hon. Levin Woolford, Comptroller of the Treasury, in re-
sponse to an order of the House.

DEAR SIR :—In compliance with the following order, passed
the House of Delegates on the 8th instant, to wit:
"Ordered, That the Comptroller be, and he is hereby re-
quested to report to this House at an early a day as possible,
the amount of money received for licenses, and to specify
what amount was received for licenses for business done in
the City of Baltimore for the year 1869—"
I would respectfully state that there was received from the
several Clerks of the State, during the fiscal year of 1869, for
licenses issued, four hundred and twenty-four thousand, one
hundred and ten dollars and seventy-nine cents, and of this
amount the sum of two hundred and eighty-seven thousand
and seventy-three dollars and forty-nine cents was received
from Baltimore city.
